Create a New Global User

  1. System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  1. In System Browser, select Management View.
    NOTE: In a distributed system, select the master system for global user.
  2. Select Project > System Settings > Users.
  3. Select the Users tab.
  4. Click New .
  5. In the New User dialog box:
    a. From the User type drop-down-list, select Desigo CC.
    b. Select the Distribution option Global.
    c. Enter a username. The name must be unique.
    NOTE: It is recommended that when you create a new user, the username should not have a blank space.
    d. Enter a password. Ensure that the password meets the complexity requirements, if you have selected the Password must meet complexity requirements check box in the Security expander. (See Security expander in SMC System Settings.)
    NOTE1: User is forced to change the password at their first login.
    NOTE2: In hierarchical distributed systems, password change is possible only on master system for Global User.
    e. Confirm the password.
    f. If you never want the changed password to expire, select the Password never expires check box. The password expiry reminder does not display during login, if the Password never expires check box is checked.
    g. Click OK.
  6. Click Save .
  1. The user is created, but not configured.
